Product details

The Swimables SW-26-997 is a generic clamp nut for FNS Plus, Quad DE and FullFloXF filters. It replaces the original part number 194997.

What the clamp nut does

These filters close with a band that wraps the seam between the two halves of the tank, and the nut is what draws that band tight. All of the clamping force that keeps a pressurized tank sealed passes through it, which is why a nut that is corroded, rounded or stripping is worth replacing rather than nursing along for another season.

Generic rather than OEM

This is an aftermarket part, not the factory nut. It is built as a direct replacement for 194997 and is priced accordingly. If you specifically need the original manufacturer hardware, order the OEM number instead.

While you are there

The tank o-ring sits under the band and is the other half of the seal. If the filter has been leaking at the seam, the o-ring is at least as likely a cause as the hardware, so inspect both while the tank is open.
