Product details

This Emperor cover is cut for a 16 x 36 ft rectangle whose step sits to one side of an end rather than in the middle. The step section is 8 ft wide and reaches 4 ft back from the pool at the water line. Flat, the panel is 18 x 38 ft, the extra foot per side being the overlap onto the deck.

  • Blue solid fabric, PVC laminated, 12 oz per square yard, burst strength listed at 400 PSI.
  • Resistant to ultraviolet light and mildew, and opaque, so no daylight reaches the water.
  • The Aquaduck channel crosses the panel and keeps rain from standing in puddles.
  • Straps run on a 5 by 5 ft grid into flush mount brass anchors in the deck.
  • Tension-Tech springs hold the tension that keeps the panel flat.
  • Anchors, stainless springs, an installation rod, a tamping tool and a storage bag are included.

Since the panel is not symmetrical, check the step side against a drawing of your own pool before ordering. And because the fabric is solid rather than mesh, water stays on top: a cover pump or a drain panel is what moves it, which ASTM F1346 section 7.3 asks be done within 30 minutes of rainfall stopping.

What does right step mean on a safety cover?
It means the step section is built off to one side of an end rather than in the middle, which is the other way this line is cut. The step area itself is the same 8 ft wide and 4 ft back at the water line. Because the panel is not symmetrical, work from a plan view of your pool and make sure the step section lands where your steps actually are.
What pool size does the 18 x 38 ft panel fit?
A 16 x 36 ft rectangle. The panel is a foot larger than the pool on each side so the straps clear the coping and reach the anchors in the deck. Order by the pool, measured at the water line.
What is in the box besides the cover?
Flush mount brass anchors, commercial grade stainless steel springs, an installation rod, a tamping tool and a storage bag. Chafing strips are already sewn into the panel to keep the webbing from wearing against the coping. What is not included is the drill and bit for setting anchors into the deck.
What does the deck have to be for this to anchor?
Concrete or paver decking, continuous around the pool. Anchors are set into the deck and tamped level so nothing protrudes in the summer, then wound up with a hex key when the cover goes on. A side that runs into grass or a garden bed has nowhere for its straps to go.
