Product details

Sized for a 16 x 36 ft rectangular inground pool whose step is on the right, this King99 panel measures 18 x 38 ft. The two extra feet in each direction are not slack, they are the foot of overlap on each side that reaches the deck and gets anchored. The step section is 8 ft wide and 4 ft back at the water line.

  • Blue mesh listed at 7 oz, with 670 PSI of burst strength.
  • Water drains through the weave, so the surface never carries a pond and no pump is needed.
  • Almost all ultraviolet light stops at the fabric, which keeps algae slow and the spring opening short.
  • Straps every 5 ft each way, tensioned with Tension-Tech springs against flush mount brass anchors.
  • Ships with the anchors, springs, installation rod, tamping tool and a storage bag.

The word safety on a pool cover has a definition behind it. ASTM F1346 divides covers into powered safety covers, manual safety covers and a third group it calls other covers, which is where a winter cover sits. Only the safety classes have to survive the section 7 static load test, and section 8.12 makes the label state which class the cover is. That label is the fastest check a pool owner has. The warranty runs 20 years limited, with the first 5 full.

How do I tell a safety cover from a winter cover?
Read the label. ASTM F1346 section 8.12 requires a cover to state its classification there, and section 4 gives three of them: powered safety cover, manual safety cover, and other covers. A winter cover is an other cover, and the standard states it is not intended as a barrier for children under five.
What pool does this cover fit?
A 16 x 36 ft rectangle with a step on the right side. The fabric panel is 18 x 38 ft so a foot of it can rest on the deck on every side and be strapped down.
How far does the step panel reach over the water?
Four feet back from the wall at the water line, across a width of 8 ft. Those are the dimensions the step section is cut to, so a step that runs wider along the wall or further out into the pool than that will not be covered by this panel.
What does the cover come with?
The kit covers the install: flush mount brass anchors and collars, commercial grade stainless steel springs to tension the straps, a rod for threading the springs, a tamping tool for setting the anchors, and a bag to store the cover in over the summer.
