Product details

Sized to a 16 x 34 ft rectangular pool with no step, this Royal panel is cut at 18 x 36 ft. The extra foot on every edge is the deck overlap that the straps pull against, so the cover ends up taut over the water rather than resting on it. Confirm the pool with a tape at the water line before ordering.

  • Blue mesh fabric, published at 4.5 oz and rated 385 PSI.
  • Water drains through the weave into the pool, so the surface clears itself and no cover pump is needed.
  • A 5 by 5 ft strap grid spreads the load across the panel.
  • Brass anchors and collars resist corrosion and tamp level with concrete or paver decking.
  • Springs, an installation rod, a tamping tool, and a storage bag are packed with the cover.

One point worth knowing before closing: the water level under a safety cover is what supports it under snow, so do not drop it further than the cover maker allows, commonly about 18 in below the top of the pool. With mesh the level rises again through the season as rain drains in. PoolTux lists 15 years limited here, the first 3 full.

Why does the spec sheet list two sizes?
One is the pool and one is the fabric. The pool size is 16 x 34 ft, and the cover is cut at 18 x 36 ft so a foot of material lands on the deck along each edge. That deck overlap is where the anchors go. Always order against the pool figure.
Is this different from a winter cover?
Yes, and the difference is written into ASTM F1346. Section 4 puts covers into powered safety covers, manual safety covers, and other covers. A winter cover is an other cover and the standard states it is not intended as a barrier for children under five. Only safety covers face the section 7 load and drainage tests. This one is made to meet ASTM F1346.
How low should the water be under the cover?
Not as low as people expect. Cover makers state a maximum, commonly no more than about 18 in below the top of the pool, because the water underneath is what holds the cover up when snow sits on it. Mesh drains rain back in over the winter, so the level tends to climb and is worth a check before spring.
What hardware is included?
The brass anchors and their collars, stainless steel springs, an installation rod, a tamping tool, and a storage bag all come with the panel. The anchors set flush with the deck so nothing stands proud once the cover comes off for the season.
