Product details

Tan is the quiet option in this range, and it is the same King99 mesh sold in blue and green. This panel is cut for a 20 by 44 ft rectangular pool with the step on the right, it measures 22 by 46 ft so a foot of fabric lands on deck all the way round, and its step section is 8 ft wide by 4 ft back at the waterline.

The weave does two jobs at once. It passes rain and snowmelt down into the pool, which keeps water off the surface and means no pump has to be tended through the winter, and it stops 99 percent of ultraviolet light from reaching the water underneath. Less light means less for algae to feed on, though enough gets through that doubling the algaecide at closing is the usual advice.

  • Straps every 5 ft in both directions, each with its own deck anchor.
  • Brass anchors and collars will not corrode and tamp down flush.
  • Chafing strips guard the webbing and the coping against abrasion.

Why is the cover two feet bigger than the pool in each direction?
The panel is 22 by 46 ft for a 20 by 44 ft pool, which puts 12 in of fabric past the edge on every side. That margin is what carries the straps out onto the deck so the anchors can be set in solid concrete or pavers rather than at the coping.
How can I tell a safety cover from a winter cover once it is out of the box?
Read the label. ASTM F1346 section 8.12 requires the label to state which classification the cover is, so it will say whether it is a safety cover or one of the other covers. That is the only reliable way to tell, since both can look similar folded up.
How big is the step section on this cover?
The step area is 8 ft wide and comes 4 ft back from the waterline. That is a fixed size on this panel, so the check to make is your own step: measure its width at the water and how far it projects, and make sure both fall inside those figures.
Does the tan color perform differently from blue or green?
No. Tan, blue and green are the same King99 mesh, with the same 7 oz weight, the same 670 psi burst rating and the same drainage. Pick the one that sits best against your decking and coping.
