Product details

This green King99 panel fits a 25 by 45 ft rectangular pool with a left hand step, and measures 27 by 47 ft so there is a foot of fabric on deck around the whole perimeter. The step section it allows for is 8 ft wide and 4 ft back at the waterline.

Two closing details matter more on a cover this size than most people expect. The first is the water level: makers set a maximum you should not go past, commonly about 18 in below the top of the pool, because the water is what supports the panel when wet snow sits on it. The second is that mesh reverses the usual winter chore list. There is no pump to run and no water to draw off, but the pool gains everything that falls on the cover, so the level will be higher in the spring than it was at closing and wants checking before you start the equipment.

Will this panel cover my left hand step?
Its step section is 8 ft wide and comes 4 ft back from the waterline, on the left end of the pool. Measure yours the same way and compare both numbers. If your step is centered or on the right, order that version instead, because the cutout cannot be relocated.
How fast does a safety cover have to drain?
ASTM F1346 section 7.3 requires substantially all standing water to be gone within 30 minutes of the rain stopping. Mesh meets that by draining as the rain falls, so water never pools on the fabric in the first place.
How far can I lower the water before closing?
Not far. Cover makers state a maximum drop, commonly no more than about 18 in below the top of the pool, because the water underneath is what holds the cover up when snow loads it. Draining too low is a common cause of damage.
How much sunlight gets through the mesh?
The weave stops 99 percent of ultraviolet light, which is most of what drives algae, but it is not opaque. Plan on a doubled algaecide dose at closing to cover the difference.
