Product details

The Balboa G8220 is the VL200 four button topside keypad, the genuine Balboa Water Group control panel. It is supplied without an overlay.

Why no overlay

The overlay is the printed graphic that sits over the buttons, and it is the part that carries the labeling for a particular spa. Selling the keypad without one means the existing overlay can be reused where it is still in good condition, or a custom one fitted where the spa was branded. It also means you should plan for an overlay if the old one is damaged, since the keypad on its own arrives blank.

Layout and connection

The panel is the mini-oval shape, which is what makes it fit narrow cabinet openings where a larger topside will not go. Four buttons cover the essentials on a spa, temperature and the jets, light and blower, and the LCD window shows temperature and system status. An RJ45 eight wire cable is already attached, listed at roughly 6 to 7 ft, so it plugs into a compatible pack without any wiring work.

Before you order

It is listed as widely compatible with Balboa VS and GS spa control systems, but Balboa produced a great many topside variants over the years. Check the number on the back of the panel you are replacing against G8220, and check that the cable length reaches your pack.
