The Pentair 521109 IntelliComm II is the interface adapter that lets a Pentair ComPool automation system operate an IntelliFlo or IntelliPro pump. It is the genuine Pentair part.

The problem it solves

ComPool systems were built before variable speed and variable flow pumps arrived, so the controller and the pump do not speak the same language on their own. The IntelliComm II sits between them and passes the commands across, which means a working ComPool can stay in place when the pump is upgraded.

What you get

The adapter only. The pump and the automation system are separate purchases. Because both sides are Pentair equipment, the connections and signalling are matched, but the install is still work for someone comfortable with pool equipment wiring.
