Product details

The Pentair R211084 is a clear leaf trap vacuum canister with a snap open lid and a mesh bag inside. It comes with one 3 foot by 1.5 inch vacuum hose to run into the skimmer.

What it is for

Vacuuming a pool after a windy week is a losing battle without a trap. Leaves go straight down the hose and pack the pump basket, flow drops away, and the job turns into a cycle of shutting the pump off, clearing the basket and starting again. The leaf trap sits in the line ahead of all that and catches the bulk in a bag you can snap open and tip out at the side of the pool.

Using it

The short hose supplied runs from the canister to the skimmer, with the vacuum hose on the other side. The clear body lets you watch the bag fill so you can empty it before flow starts to suffer. Keeping the heavy debris out here also means the pump basket and the impeller behind it see far less of it.
