This is the Raypak indoor draft hood kit for the Raytherm P724 pool heater, part number 1459. It is the genuine Raypak part.
What the draft hood does
An indoor gas heater has to move its combustion gases out of the room and into a vent. The draft hood sits on top of the heater over the flue collar, collects those gases and hands them to the vent pipe while letting the burner draw a steady draft. A hood that is corroded through, crushed, or simply missing after the heater has been moved has to be replaced before the heater is put back into service.
