Product details

Raypak 004306F is the genuine electronic combination gas valve for propane, used on the Raypak 055A, 055B and 105A IID pool heaters.

What a combination valve is

Rather than separate components, a combination valve puts the safety shutoff, the pressure regulator and the main gas control into a single body. The heater control board energizes it during the ignition sequence, the valve opens, and gas reaches the burner at regulated pressure. That is the whole gas path in one part.

Propane only

This is the LP version. Propane and natural gas run at different pressures and take different valves, so the fuel your heater is set up for decides which part number you order. Do not substitute across fuel types.

When it is the failed part

The typical symptom is a heater that goes through its ignition sequence normally, sparks, and then locks out because the burner never lights. Once gas supply and inlet pressure to the heater check out, the combination valve is the next thing to test.

Will this work on natural gas?
No. This is the propane version. A natural gas heater needs the natural gas valve, and swapping them is not something to improvise.
Which heaters does it fit?
It is listed for the Raypak 055A, 055B and 105A IID pool heaters.
What is a combination valve?
It combines the safety shutoff, the pressure regulator and the main gas control in one body, which is why one part number covers all of it.
My heater sparks but never lights, is the valve the problem?
It is a common cause. If the control board runs the ignition sequence and calls for gas but no gas reaches the burner, the valve is where to look, after confirming gas supply and pressure to the heater.
