Product details

The Raypak 001801F is the 5.5 kW element kit for the ELS 552-2 pool heater, rated at 240 V. It is the genuine Raypak part.

What it does

An electric pool heater has no burner and no flame. The element is the heat, and everything else in the cabinet exists to control it and move water past it. When an element goes open circuit the heater still powers up, still runs its cycle and still reports normally, but the water temperature does not move. That combination is what usually points here.

Before you fit it

Confirm the fault with a meter rather than by symptom, and check the rating against your heater. This kit is the 5.5 kW element at 240 V for the ELS 552-2. Isolate the supply before opening the heater, since the connections at the element carry 240 volts.
