The Raypak 600575B is the propane millivolt pilot with generator, a new OEM Raypak part. It is listed to fit Raypak heater models 53, 53A, 55A, 105A, 151, 153, 155A and 183A.
How a millivolt pilot works
A millivolt heater has no external power. The pilot flame heats the generator, the generator produces a small voltage, and that voltage is what holds the gas valve open. It is an elegant arrangement with one weakness: the generator wears out. When it does, the pilot still lights but there is no longer enough output to run the valve, and the heater refuses to fire.
Propane, not natural gas
This is the propane version. Pilot orifices are sized to the gas, so the natural gas heater takes a different part. Check the gas type on the rating plate before ordering.
What you get
The pilot assembly complete with its generator, so both halves of the usual failure are replaced together rather than reusing a tired generator on a new pilot.

Will this work on a natural gas heater?
No. Raypak lists 600575B as the propane pilot. Natural gas heaters take a different pilot.
