Why the relief valve matters
A heater is a closed vessel with a burner under it. If a valve gets closed, a pump stops or the filter blocks while the heater is firing, pressure climbs fast. The relief valve is the mechanical backstop that opens and dumps that pressure before anything splits. It is the one part on a heater that nobody should leave in doubtful condition.
