Raypak Genuine OEM Unitherm Governor, 062234B

The Raypak 062234B is the unitherm governor used in the header of Raypak gas pool heaters. It is the genuine Raypak part, listed for the RP2100 gas heaters, models R185A through R405A built from 1993 through 1998.

What it does

The unitherm governor is the thermal bypass built into the heater header. It reads the temperature of the water moving through the heater and decides how much of that flow is sent through the heat exchanger and how much is routed around it. That balance is what keeps the exchanger above the point where flue gas condenses on it. A governor that has stuck or failed lets cold water sit against the exchanger, and the usual symptoms are condensation dripping inside the cabinet and soot building up on the tubes.

Beyond the RP2100 range, the same governor is carried in the parts groups for the Raypak 206A, 266A, 336A and 406A digital atmospheric heaters, the 207A, 267A, 337A and 407A Low NOx heaters, and the Versa 155A through 405B models.

Before you order

Raypak lists a different unitherm governor for polymer heat exchanger headers. Look at the header on your heater and confirm which version you need, since the two are not interchangeable.
