Raypak Genuine OEM Pressure Relief Valve 125 PSI, 007224F

The Raypak 007224F is the genuine OEM pressure relief valve rated at 125 psi for Raypak pool heaters.

What it does

The relief valve is the last line of defense on a closed heating loop. If a valve closes on a running heater or the water has no path out, pressure climbs against a heat exchanger that was never designed to hold it. The relief valve opens before that becomes a failure.

Our sources do not agree on the model coverage. The product listing names Raypak models 261, 331 and 401. The parts diagrams this valve appears on cover the RP2100 range R185A to R405A from 1993 to 1998, the RP2100 Digital Gas models R185B, R265B, R335B and R405B, and the 207A, 267A, 337A and 407A Digital Low NOx heaters. Match the part number stamped on the valve you are taking out rather than working from a model number alone.

One rule

Fit the same rating. A relief valve is not a plumbing fitting to be chosen on thread size, and a valve set at a different pressure removes the protection the heater was engineered around. A valve that has weeped, dripped or lifted gets replaced rather than reseated.
