The Jandy R0358400 is the inlet elbow for the DEV series DE filter, supplied together with its o-ring. It fits the DEV48 and DEV60.
What it does
The elbow carries water from the inlet port into the tank and turns it at the angle the filter was designed around. It is a small molded part under constant pressure, which is why it is a familiar leak point: the shoulder cracks, or the o-ring takes a permanent set and no longer seals when the filter is reassembled after a DE change.
Fitting
Because the o-ring comes with the elbow, the joint goes back together on a fresh seal rather than a reused one. Give the o-ring a thin film of silicone lubricant before assembly, and check the mating face is clean, since a trace of old DE on the seat is enough to hold a weep.
