Product details

The SimPoolTech AGSD-LM is a skimmer plug cut to the Lomart skimmer opening, 5-5/16 inches high by 7-3/4 inches wide. It closes the skimmer for winter without any tools and without replacing the faceplate.

How it seals

The plug is built in two layers. A rigid ABS outer plate faces the pool and takes the load, and behind it a 3/4 inch Rovaseal insulating layer compresses against the faceplate to make the seal. The two are laminated together rather than clipped, so there is nothing to come apart in the cold.

Why bother closing the skimmer

Water sitting in the skimmer throat freezes and expands, and skimmer bodies split more often than any other part of a pool over winter. Sealing the opening keeps water and ice out of the throat and off the plumbing behind it.

Getting the size right

Skimmer openings vary by brand, and this plug is made in several sizes. This one carries the Lomart fitment. If you are not certain what brand your skimmer is, take the two measurements and compare them, since the fit is what matters rather than the badge.
