Oatey Pool-Tite 2336S is a professional grade, medium bodied blue PVC solvent cement in a one quart can. It is recommended for solvent welding all schedules and classes of flexible and rigid PVC pipe and fittings up to 6 inches with interference fit.
Why a pool specific cement
Pool plumbing is rarely dry. Joints are made in a wet trench, in a flooded equipment pit, or on a line that will not fully drain, and the system often has to run again the same day. This cement is formulated for exactly that: it is fast setting and specified for wet conditions and quick pressurization, where a slower general purpose cement would still be curing.
Compliance and one hard limit
The formula meets the California South Coast Air Quality Management District Rule 1168 and Ozone Transport Commission requirements for volatile organic compound emissions. There is one restriction worth reading twice: this product is not for use in a system using or being tested by compressed air or gases. Pressure test with water.
