Boss 802 is a one part, mildew resistant acetoxy cure silicone sealant, supplied clear in a 10.3 oz size under part number 142315.

Where it is used

It is designed for sealing spa jets, skimmers and fittings, and it handles most of the general repair and maintenance sealing that comes up around a pool. Curing clear means a bead around a fitting stays inconspicuous instead of drawing the eye.

Acetoxy cure

Acetoxy silicone cures quickly by reacting with moisture in the air, releasing acetic acid as it does, which is the vinegar smell. It bonds well to glass, glazed and most plastic surfaces. Because it cures on contact with humidity, tool the bead promptly and cap the tube after use.

Preparation

Silicone only holds on a surface that is clean and dry. Remove the old sealant completely, degrease the joint and let it dry before laying a new bead.
