Product details
The Lasco 423-015 is a 1-1/2 inch street 45 degree PVC elbow. One end is a 1.5 inch insider fitting and the other is a 1.5 inch slip socket.
What street means
A regular elbow has a socket at each end, so joining it to a valve or a tee needs a short piece of pipe in between. A street elbow replaces that with an insider end that plugs straight into the next fitting. On an equipment pad, where a 45 often has to start immediately off a union or a pump port, that saves a joint and several inches of run.
Fitting it
Both connections are solvent welded, so the joint is primed and cemented like any other PVC connection. Dry fit the turn first: with a street fitting there is no pipe to trim, so the angle you get is the angle the fitting gives you.
