Product details

The Super-Pro 23306-120-020 is a replacement venturi tee nozzle with a 1/2 inch opening. It is the insert that sets the jet size inside the tee.

What the opening does

A venturi works by forcing flow through a restriction so it speeds up. The nozzle is that restriction. Its opening is not a loose detail, it is the number that decides how the assembly behaves, which is why the same nozzle body is sold in more than one size.

When to replace it

Nozzles wear. Water carrying fine grit slowly opens the orifice, and once it has grown past its original size the jet slows and the venturi loses its bite. A fresh nozzle restores the original flow without touching the plumbing around it. Order by part number so you get the 1/2 inch opening rather than a similar looking nozzle in another size.

What size is the opening?

Half an inch. The nozzle body is offered in more than one orifice size, so order by the 23306-120-020 number to be sure of getting this one.

What does the nozzle do?

It narrows the flow into a fast jet inside the venturi tee. That jet is what the venturi effect depends on, so the orifice size directly sets how the assembly performs.

Why would I replace one?

Nozzles erode. Grit and years of flow open the orifice up, and once it is no longer the size it started at, the jet slows and the effect drops off.

Can I fit a different opening size?

Only if the assembly is specified for it. Changing the orifice changes the flow through the tee, so match what the system was set up with unless you know why you are changing it.
