Product details

This tan King99 mesh panel is cut for a 15 by 30 ft rectangular pool with a left hand step. At 17 by 32 ft it overhangs the pool by a foot on every side, which is the fabric the straps need to reach anchors in the deck, and the step section is 8 ft wide by 4 ft back at the waterline.

On a pool this size a mesh cover is genuinely easy to live with. The panel is lighter than a coated solid sheet, so one person can usually manage it, and once the straps are tensioned there is nothing to maintain: rain and snowmelt run through the weave into the pool instead of collecting on top, so no pump has to be set out and watched. The pool will be fuller in the spring as a result, and since some daylight still reaches the water, doubling the algaecide at closing is the usual advice.

How big is the step section, and will my step fit it?
The cutout allows a step 8 ft wide reaching 4 ft back from the waterline, on the left end. On a 15 ft wide pool that is a little over half the width. Measure your step at the water and check both the width and the projection before ordering.
Mesh or solid for a pool this size?
Mesh is lighter to put on and take off single handed, and it needs no pump because rain and snowmelt drain through into the pool. A solid cover blocks all light but holds that water on the surface, where it has to be pumped off through the winter.
What kind of anchors does it use?
Flush mount brass anchors with collars that resist corrosion. They tamp into concrete or paver decking, wind up with a hex key when the cover goes on, and wind back down level with the deck for the summer.
How low should the water be when I close?
Keep it within the maximum the maker gives, commonly no more than about 18 in below the top of the pool. The water carries the cover under a snow load, so an over drained pool puts the load on the straps and anchors instead.
