Product details

This green King99 cover fits a 16 x 32 ft rectangle with a step in the middle of one end. The step section is 8 ft across and comes 4 ft back at the water line, so measure your own step both ways before ordering. The finished panel is 18 x 34 ft, giving a foot of fabric on the deck all the way round.

  • Mesh fabric at 7 oz, burst strength listed as 670 PSI.
  • Rain and melting snow pass through the weave and land in the pool, so no pump goes on top.
  • The weave stops 99 percent of ultraviolet light and keeps most debris out of the water.
  • Straps land on a 5 by 5 ft grid, which sets the number of anchors the deck needs.
  • Flush mount brass anchors are non corrosive and drop level with the deck when the cover comes off.
  • Stainless steel springs, an installation rod, a tamping tool and a storage bag are included.

Mesh changes two things about closing. Water goes into the pool instead of onto the cover, so the level rises and should be checked through the season, and a little daylight reaches the surface, which is why an algaecide dose is commonly doubled under a mesh panel.

Will my steps fit under this cover?
The step section on this panel is 8 ft wide and comes 4 ft back at the water line. Measure your own step the same way, along the wall and then out into the pool, and compare the two numbers. A step wider than 8 ft or deeper than 4 ft will not sit under this panel, so use a tape rather than an estimate.
What is the difference between the 16 x 32 and the 18 x 34 measurement?
The first is the pool and the second is the fabric. Safety covers are ordered by pool size, and the maker adds the overlap, here a foot on each side, so the straps can reach anchors set back from the coping. Do not order by the panel size or you will end up two feet oversized in both directions.
Can a person stand on this cover?
It is made to meet ASTM F1346, whose section 7 static load test loads a cover on a pool more than 8 ft wide with 485 lb, applied as 210, 225 and 50 lb, each over a square foot and all inside a 3 ft radius. That test is about catching someone who falls on it, not about using the cover as a deck. Keep traffic off it and keep the straps tight.
What does the 20 year warranty cover?
PoolTux lists this King99 cover at 20 years limited with the first 5 years full. The terms themselves come from PoolTux, so read the warranty sheet packed with the cover for what counts as a covered failure. Keep the label sewn to the panel too: under ASTM F1346 section 8.12 that label is what states the cover classification.
