Product details

This is the Coates 20006004 heating element, rated 15kW at 208 volts and supplied with the 4 bolt flange and gasket it mounts on. It is the factory part for Coates electric pool and spa heaters.

Why elements fail

An electric heater makes its heat entirely at the element. Scale builds on the sheath, the metal corrodes, and eventually the element opens. From the outside the heater looks fine: the display lights, the pump runs, the controls call for heat, and the water temperature never moves. Replacing the element brings the heater back without touching the controls.

Before you order

Two numbers have to agree. The element is 15kW and 208V, and both need to match the heater rating plate and the supply feeding it. Heaters of the same size are built in more than one voltage, and an element on the wrong supply will not last. Count how many elements your vessel carries as well, since larger heaters use several.

The flange and gasket ship with the element, so the mounting hardware is covered. Element replacement is line voltage work inside a wet location, and it belongs to a qualified service tech.

Can I use this in place of a 240V element?
