Product details

The Pentair 475615Z is the genuine heat exchanger and chimney gasket kit for the ETi 400 pool heater. It replaces the seals at both of those joints in one part number.

What these gaskets seal

The heat exchanger and the chimney sit on the combustion side of the heater, where flue gas is kept apart from the water path and directed out of the unit. The gaskets at those joints do that separating. When they harden, crush unevenly or tear, the heater can leak combustion products where they do not belong, and efficiency drops along with it.

Fit new gaskets, do not reuse old ones

A gasket takes a permanent set the first time it is torqued down and heat cycled. Reinstalling one after the joint has been opened rarely gives a proper seal, and the failure shows up later as a leak that is much harder to trace. Plan on this kit any time the heat exchanger or chimney comes apart on an ETi 400.

Can I reuse the old gaskets?
No. Once a gasket has been compressed and heat cycled it has taken a permanent set, and it will not seal reliably against the fresh clamping force. Fit new ones any time the joint is opened.
Do I need this for a heat exchanger replacement?
If you are opening the heat exchanger or the chimney joint, yes. The gaskets are separate from the exchanger itself and are the seals that go back in when it is reassembled.
