The Teledyne Laars R0334300 is the flame sensor and rectifier kit, LD. It is the genuine Laars part.
What it does
A gas heater will not run on ignition alone. After the burner lights, the control has to see proof of flame before it will hold the gas valve open. The flame sensor and its rectifier circuit provide that proof. When the sensor fouls or fails, the heater lights for a few seconds and then shuts down, and it will keep doing that until the sensing circuit is put right.

This is part of the safety chain on a gas appliance. The work belongs to a qualified gas technician, who can also confirm the sensor is the actual fault rather than a symptom of a dirty burner or a grounding problem.
