Part R0337600 is the header coupling o-ring for Jandy Laars LX and LT pool heaters. It seals the coupling joint where the header sections meet.
What it does
The header carries pool water across the top of the heat exchanger, and the coupling joint sees full system pressure every time the pump runs. The o-ring is the only thing between that pressure and the outside of the heater, so when it goes the symptom is water tracking down from the coupling.
When to replace
Any time the header coupling is taken apart, and any time there is a leak at that joint. Rubber in a heater header goes through constant heating and cooling, which hardens it and leaves it compressed in the shape of the groove. Once it has taken that set it will not seal again, even reassembled carefully.
