Quick overview
- Genuine Laars part Factory part number R0471500, not a generic substitute.
- Built for the LRZM Sized and terminated for the Laars LRZM pool and spa heater.
- The usual no pilot fix A pilot generator that has failed is the common reason a standing pilot lights and then drops out.
- Feeds the gas valve The generator produces the small current the gas valve needs to stay open once the pilot is lit.
- Direct swap Replaces the original generator in the same position on the pilot assembly.
- Worth checking first A generator is cheaper and faster to change than a gas valve, so test it before condemning anything larger.

Product details
The Teledyne Laars R0471500 is the pilot generator for the LRZM model pool and spa heater. It is the genuine Laars part, the same one fitted at the factory.
What it does
On a standing pilot heater the pilot flame has to prove itself before the main burner is allowed to fire. The pilot generator sits in that flame and turns its heat into the small electrical output that holds the gas valve open. As the generator ages its output falls, and the heater starts lighting the pilot only to shut down a moment later.
Before you order
Check the pilot itself first. A partly blocked orifice or a flame that no longer wraps the generator tip produces the same fault and costs nothing to correct. If the pilot burns clean and steady and the heater still drops out, the generator is the part to change.
