Product details

The Jandy R0524300 is the vent fusible link rated at 240 C, used across Model 200, 260 and 400 JXi heaters, the Legacy LRZE and LRZM, and the LXi Low NOx heaters. It is the genuine Jandy part.

What it does

The fusible link is a deliberate weak point in the vent path. If the temperature there climbs past where it should be, the link melts, the circuit opens, and the heater shuts down. It is a one shot device: there is nothing to reset, and a link that has operated has to come out and be replaced.

Do not stop at the part

A blown link is a symptom, not the fault. Something made the vent hot enough to melt it: a blocked or restricted flue, a downdraft, a bad draft hood installation, or a combustion problem inside the heater. Fitting a new link without finding that cause simply means the next one goes as well.

Match the rating

Fusible links come in different temperature ratings and they are not interchangeable. This one is specified at 240 C for these heaters. Fit the rating the manufacturer calls for.

No. A fusible link works by melting, so once it has operated it is finished and has to be replaced.
Why did mine blow?
Excess temperature at the vent. Blocked or restricted venting, a downdraft, or a combustion fault will all do it, so find and fix the cause before running the heater again.
