The Jandy R0590500 is the internal refractory replacement kit for the Model 200, 260 and 400 JXi pool heaters. It is the genuine Jandy part.

What refractory does

Refractory is the heat resistant lining around the combustion area. It keeps burner heat directed into the heat exchanger and off the surrounding metal. As it ages it cracks, crumbles at the edges or burns back, and once that starts the heater loses efficiency and the surrounding parts take heat they were never meant to take.

This is the internal kit. The JXi uses more than one refractory piece, so open the heater or the parts breakdown and confirm which position has failed before ordering.
