Product details

Jandy R0590005 is the manifold backplate for the JXi Model 400 pool heater. It is the genuine Jandy replacement part.

What it is

The backplate closes off the back of the heater manifold, the water side assembly that carries pool water through the heater. Corrosion, scale and freeze damage all show up here, and when the backplate is the piece that has failed, replacing it on its own is a good deal cheaper than replacing the entire manifold assembly.

Size matters

JXi heaters are built in more than one size and the manifold parts are not shared between them. R0590005 is the Model 400 backplate. Read the size off the data plate on the heater and match it to the part number before ordering, since a part for the 200 or 260 will not serve here.

Getting it fitted

This is a repair inside a gas fired appliance with the water side opened up. Unless you service heaters regularly, have a pool heater technician carry out the work and pressure check the manifold afterwards.
