The Teledyne Laars R0037000 is the replacement pilot tubing for the Jandy Laars Lite and Lite2 heaters, the Series 2 heaters and the Legacy LRZM. It is the genuine Laars part.
What it does
The pilot tubing is the small gas line running from the gas valve out to the pilot burner. The pilot is what proves and lights the main burners, so the whole heater depends on that short piece of line staying clear and tight. Age, corrosion and being knocked during other repairs are the usual reasons it needs replacing, and the symptom is a heater that will not light or that drops out shortly after it does.
Fitting
Confirm the model and vintage of your heater before ordering, since the Series 2 listings cover the 1993 to 1996 ESG millivolt and ESC electronic ignition units. The work itself sits on the gas train and should be done and leak tested by a licensed gas technician.
