The Rola-Chem 570341T is a top mount flowmeter for 1.5 inch PVC pipe, reading 25 to 60 GPM. It installs into the top of a horizontal run and gives a direct reading of what is actually passing through the line.
Why a flowmeter earns its place
Most equipment pads are judged by a pressure gauge, which really only reports how loaded the filter is. Flow rate is the number that everything else is specified against: pool turnover, the minimum flow a heater needs before it will fire safely, the dosing a chlorinator is rated for, and the point at which a pump is being asked to push more than its plumbing can take. A flowmeter puts that number in front of you every time you walk the pad.
Fitting and range
It is scaled 25 to 60 GPM, which is the working band for a 1.5 inch line. Pick the mount and pipe size to match the run you are installing into, and give the meter a straight length of pipe ahead of it so the reading settles. Rola-Chem makes matching meters in larger sizes and in side and vertical mount styles for other parts of the system.
Service parts
The o-ring and the black caplug are available separately, so a leaking or damaged meter does not always mean a new meter.
