Polaris Hose Swivel, Black

The Polaris D21 is the black ball bearing hose swivel used on the BlackMax versions of the 280, 380, 480 and 3900 pressure cleaners. It is the genuine Polaris part.

What it does

As the cleaner drives around the pool the feed hose is constantly being twisted. The swivels along the hose let each section rotate independently so that twist is released instead of building into a coil. When a swivel seizes, the hose kinks, the cleaner drags it around in a knot and coverage suffers.

Checking and replacing

Twist the hose on either side of each swivel. A good one spins freely; a worn one binds or grinds. The D21 threads onto the hose sections, so replacing it is a matter of unscrewing the old swivel and fitting the new one. It is molded in black plastic to match the BlackMax hose.
