The Swimline 87902 is a set of two white molded rubber ladder bumpers, made to fit both 1.7 inch and 1.9 inch outside diameter ladder rails.
Why a ladder needs them
A pool ladder leans its weight into the wall, and every swimmer who climbs it adds to that load. The bumper is the cushion between the two. Without it, a steel or resin rail bears directly against the surface, and the result is a scuffed wall, a marked floor or, on a vinyl pool, a worn patch that eventually becomes a leak.
Fitting
Bumpers push onto the ends of the rails. They are suitable for vinyl liner and gunite pools alike, so the same part covers most residential ladders. If one bumper has gone missing or torn, replace the pair, since the ladder should sit level on both sides.
