Pentair MagicStream Laminar Color LED Water Feature, Tan Deck Lid, 100 ft Cord, 12V, 580001T

The Pentair MagicStream 580001T is a laminar water feature with a color LED light engine, a tan deck lid and a 100 ft cord. It installs flush in a deck or the landscaping around a pool, spa or fountain and sends a clear, unbroken arc of water up to 7 ft high and 8 ft out.

Lighting

The 12 VAC LED engine draws 16 W at most and offers 7 color shows and 5 fixed colors, with hold and recall to save an effect. It leaves the factory in IntelliBrite Mode, which keeps it in sync with IntelliBrite color lights, and it can be run from a wall switch or from IntelliTouch or EasyTouch automation. A built-in solenoid thumper adds a moving spot of light to the arc, and a light enhancer adjusts how brightly the stream carries the color.

Plumbing

Supply each laminar with 1 in. Sch40 PVC and its own 1 in. ball or globe throttling valve. The full arc takes 10 GPM at 16 ft of head measured at the laminar, and supply pressure should not exceed 3.5 bar. Clean, filtered water matters, because debris in the unit breaks up the stream. The ABS deck housing needs a 1-1/2 in. drain line and should not go where runoff or flooding collects.

Electrical

The 100 ft 2-wire cable runs through 1 in. PVC conduit to a 100 watt pool lighting transformer with a 12 VAC output, purchased separately and protected by a GFCI. The transformer or junction box must sit at least 8 in. above ground and 48 in. from the pool edge, the canister must be bonded through its No. 8 AWG ground connector, and installation should be done by a licensed electrician or qualified pool professional.
