Product details

Pool shock in pre-measured one pound bags. Each bag is 99% sodium dichlor with 56% available chlorine, a stabilized granular chlorine that kills bacteria and algae and brings dull, cloudy water back to clear. Buy a single bag, or a 6, 12 or 24 pack to cover the season.

How much to use

One bag per 10,000 gallons to shock the pool. For algae, one bag per 10,000 gallons for light growth and two for medium to heavy growth. Broadcast it into the deep end with the pump running and brush any granules that settle. In water under 70°F, dissolve it first in a clean plastic bucket of cool water, always adding the product to the water, never water to the product.

Why stabilized

Dichlor carries its own stabilizer, which protects the chlorine from the sun so it lasts longer in an outdoor pool. It dissolves quickly and completely, and it is labeled for vinyl, fiberglass and plaster pools. Test regularly, since stabilizer builds up over a season of repeated dosing.

Before you swim

The label prohibits swimming while chlorine is above 3 ppm. Test the water after shocking and swim once it is back to 3 ppm or below.
