Why a cutter beats a saw on PVC
A cutter shears the pipe in one plane, so the end comes off square and there is no plastic dust left inside. That matters more on pool plumbing than people expect: a cut that is off square does not bottom out in the fitting socket, and swarf left in the pipe ends up in a pump basket or an impeller. With a cutter you go straight from the cut to primer and cement.
