Quick overview

  • Purity Pool RBRB The Red Barron net supplied together with the Rag Bag.
  • Soft mesh bag The Rag Bag is a soft, large mesh bag rather than a stiff flat skimmer net.
  • Deep bag design A bagged net holds a load of leaves instead of dumping them back into the water on the lift out.
  • Two names, one product This net is listed as both Red Barron and Red Baron, so do not assume they are different items.
  • Renewable Purity Pool sells a Rag Bag renew kit, so the bag can be replaced without buying the whole net.
  • Rinse and dry after use Leaf debris left in a wet mesh bag rots and stains it, so hose the bag out and hang it to dry.

Product details

The Purity Pool RBRB is the Red Barron net supplied with the Rag Bag, a soft large mesh bag for collecting leaves and debris.

Why a bagged net

A flat skimmer net holds one scoop. A bagged net like this one carries a full load of leaves up out of the water in a single pass, which matters on a pool under trees where a shallow net means walking back to the trash every few minutes. The soft mesh gives the bag its shape without the stiffness that snags on a step edge or a light niche.

Two spellings, one net

This product appears as both Red Barron and Red Baron. They are the same Purity Pool item, part number RBRB, so do not order twice looking for a second version.

Looking after it

Hose the bag out and hang it to dry after use. Wet leaf litter left sitting in mesh will stain and eventually rot the bag, and Purity Pool sells a Rag Bag renew kit for when the bag wears out before the net does.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

Is it Red Barron or Red Baron?
Both spellings appear on this product. The listing title uses Red Barron and the product description uses Red Baron, and they refer to the same Purity Pool net, part number RBRB.
What is the Rag Bag?
It is the soft, large mesh bag that fits this net. It holds a deeper load of debris than a flat skimmer net.
Can I replace just the bag?
Yes. Purity Pool offers a Red Baron Rag Bag renew kit, so a worn bag can be changed without replacing the net.
Is the soft mesh good for fine debris?
The Rag Bag is described as a soft large mesh bag, which suits scooping leaves and general debris. Our facts do not give a mesh rating, so we cannot state a particle size it will hold.
