Product details

The Skimlite R4C is a round pocket skimmer net, built with an aluminum handle and a frame in 304 stainless steel and spring steel.

The build

Two metals do two jobs here. The 304 stainless steel is there because chlorinated water eats cheaper steel, and the spring steel gives the frame a memory, so a rim that gets knocked or leaned on comes back to shape instead of staying bent. The handle is aluminum, which keeps the weight down when the net is out over the water.

What it is for

Surface skimming. Leaves, blossom and floating debris come off the water before they waterlog and sink, which keeps them out of the skimmer basket and off the pool floor. The round pocket is made to hold a load rather than let it wash back out over the rim.

One thing to check

The net is specified as 4 inch. The specification does not say which dimension that figure describes, so if you are matching this to an existing pole or frame, measure before you order.
