Product details

The Skimlite Spartan SP2022 is a 22 inch all purpose wall brush with nylon bristles. It is the brush for routine wall and floor work, sized wide enough to cover a pool quickly but still manageable around steps and corners.

Why nylon

Nylon is the all purpose bristle. It scrubs algae film and settled dust off the surface without the aggression of stainless, which is why it is the sensible default on a vinyl liner or a fiberglass shell. Keep stainless bristle brushes for plaster and gunite only.

The Spartan build

Spartan brushes are built around an all metal handle for extra strength, and they use patented magnetic end caps. Those caps add 4 inches of extra bristle length at the ends of the brush, and because they are magnetic they pull screws, clips and other metal odds and ends off the pool floor as you work.

Is this brush safe on a vinyl liner?
The bristles are nylon, which is the all purpose bristle and the usual choice for vinyl and fiberglass. Stainless bristle brushes are the ones to keep off a liner.
