The Skimlite 5008 is a two piece telescopic pool pole from the 5000 single cam series, with the outside lock, and it runs from 8 ft to 16 ft.

The outside lock

The 5008 was created in 1959 and was the first telescopic pole made for the pool industry. The appeal is its simplicity: an external locking cam and heavy wall tubing, with nothing hidden inside the pole to go wrong. The nylon male fitting is pressed onto the outside tube under enormous pressure so it will not fall off, and the female and ferrule fittings can be replaced when they wear instead of retiring the pole.

Outside lock or inside lock

The 5009 uses the same tubing with a patented internal lock, and the Dually series combines both. All three are industry favorites, so the choice comes down to whether your crews prefer working an external or an internal locking assembly.
