Product details

The Oreq PL41816 is the Pro Animal ProLock snap pole, a two piece pool pole that reaches from 8 ft closed to 16 ft extended. It uses dual cams, one inside and one outside.

The cam

The lock is a painters style quick release cam. It opens up smoothly and easily, which matters when a pole spends the season being adjusted with wet hands and no free fingers. There is no button and no spring pin to seize.

Built to take a season

The pole is high quality extruded aluminum, anodized for extended wear. Wall thickness runs 15 percent above a standard pole, and that extra material is what keeps a fully extended pole from flexing under a vacuum head or a wide leaf rake.

Arrives straight

Poles are shipped inside sturdy PVC plastic to prevent damage in transit, so a 16 ft pole gets to the door the shape it left in.

How far does it extend?

What is a painters style cam?
It is the quick release lock used on painting poles. A short twist frees the section, a twist back locks it, and there is no button or pin to break.
Why does the wall thickness matter?
A pole flexes under a vacuum head or a leaf rake at full extension. This one is drawn 15 percent thicker in the wall than a standard pole, which is what stops it folding at the joint.
