The Skimlite 9024 is a three piece telepole from the 9000 Dual Cam series, the pole Skimlite calls the Dually. It extends from 8 feet to 24 feet and carries two independent locking systems on the same pole.
Why two locks
Skimlite built the Dually as a hybrid of the internal and external locking mechanisms from the 5000 series. Engage both and you get more locking power than either design alone, which is what you want when a vacuum head is loaded or the pole is out at full reach. Use only one and the pole is quicker to set and lighter to swing on routine work.
Serviceable by design
The patented internal cam uses a plug pressed into the inner pole with a cam shoe that can be replaced once it wears. The outside lock, a design in service since 1959, uses a nylon male fitting pressed hard onto the outer tube, with female and ferrule fittings that are also replaceable. Both locks are meant to be maintained rather than thrown away with the pole.
