Product details

The Skimlite 7116 is the 7000 Promax Series 2-piece telepole, extending from 8 ft to 16 ft, built with an inner cam lock and an outside lock fitting.

How the locks work

The pole uses two different lock styles at once. The inner cam lock is a quick on and off mechanism built into the telescoping joint, and it includes a drain hole so water clears out faster when the pole is pulled from the pool. The outside lock end uses a nylon male fitting that is pressed onto the outer tube under heavy pressure, which keeps it from pulling loose during normal pool service use.

Built to be serviced

The female and ferrule fittings on the outside lock end are designed as replaceable wear parts rather than a sealed assembly, so a worn end can be renewed instead of retiring the whole pole. This outside lock style has long been popular with pool service technicians for its fast attach and release action, particularly in warmer climates where poles see daily use.

Before you order

The 7116 is the 2-piece pole only, extending 8 ft to 16 ft. Confirm your net, brush, or vacuum head uses an outside lock connection before pairing it with this pole.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

What does the inner cam lock do on the Skimlite 7116?
It is a quick on and off lock built into the pole so you can extend or collapse the 7116 telepole without threading, and it has a drain hole so water drains faster when the pole is lifted out of the pool.
How long does the Skimlite 7116 extend?
The 7116 is a 2-piece telepole that extends from 8 ft to 16 ft, giving reach for skimming, brushing, or vacuuming a larger pool.
Can the outside lock end be repaired if it wears out?
Yes. The female and ferrule fittings on the outside lock end are designed to be replaced individually, so the pole does not have to be discarded when that end wears.
What attaches to the Skimlite 7116 pole?
The 7116 uses standard pool tool connections and is meant to take Skimlite style net, brush, and vacuum head attachments with the outside lock end.
