The Skimlite 7116 is the 7000 Promax Series 2-piece telepole, extending from 8 ft to 16 ft, built with an inner cam lock and an outside lock fitting.

How the locks work

The pole uses two different lock styles at once. The inner cam lock is a quick on and off mechanism built into the telescoping joint, and it includes a drain hole so water clears out faster when the pole is pulled from the pool. The outside lock end uses a nylon male fitting that is pressed onto the outer tube under heavy pressure, which keeps it from pulling loose during normal pool service use.

Built to be serviced

The female and ferrule fittings on the outside lock end are designed as replaceable wear parts rather than a sealed assembly, so a worn end can be renewed instead of retiring the whole pole. This outside lock style has long been popular with pool service technicians for its fast attach and release action, particularly in warmer climates where poles see daily use.
