Product details
The Pentair R111616 is a 6 inch stainless steel algae brush that snaps into any standard pool pole. It is a spot tool, not a general purpose brush.
What it is for
Algae that has taken hold on plaster does not come off with a nylon brush. Stainless bristles cut into the surface film and break the growth open so sanitizer can reach it. The narrow 6 inch head is deliberate: it puts all the pressure you apply onto one small patch, which is what you need on steps, in corners and along the waterline.
Important limit
This brush is for concrete pools only. Stainless steel bristles will damage a vinyl liner and will mark fiberglass, so keep it off both. For routine brushing of the whole pool, use a nylon brush and keep this one for the problem spots.
