Product details

The Oreq BR4018S is an 18 inch wall brush from the Stinger range, fitted with poly bristles and listed for vinyl and all other pool surfaces. It is the brush head on its own and takes a standard telescopic pole.

Why the bristle material matters

Bristle choice is not a preference, it is a compatibility question. Poly bristles scrub hard enough to lift algae and film but stay soft enough to run over a vinyl liner without damaging it. Stainless bristles, which are the right answer on bare plaster, will score and eventually cut vinyl. If you have a liner pool, or a mixed site where one brush has to serve both, poly is the safe choice.

Brushing routine

Brushing is the part of pool care that chemicals cannot do for you. Algae takes hold in the corners, on the steps and along the waterline where circulation is weakest, and it has to be physically disturbed before a sanitizer can reach it. An 18 inch head covers a wall or floor pass quickly, which makes a weekly brush far more likely to actually happen.

Is this safe on a vinyl liner?
Yes. Poly bristles are the correct choice for a liner. A stainless or wire bristle brush will score and eventually cut vinyl, which is why brush ranges are split by bristle type in the first place.
Can I use it on plaster or gunite as well?
It is listed for all pool surfaces, so it will work. On plaster and gunite a combination bristle brush bites harder into algae, which is worth knowing if you brush a plaster pool regularly.
Does a pole come with it?
No. This is the 18 inch brush head. It attaches to a standard telescopic pool pole, bought separately.
How wide is it?
18 inches across the head, which is the common full size for a pool wall brush.
