The Oreq BR4018C is an 18 inch Deluxe Stinger wall brush from the PoolPals line, built in yellow plastic with a combo bristle head that is 50 percent grit.

Why a combo bristle

An all nylon brush is gentle and slow on a stained plaster wall. An all stainless brush cuts hard but is more than most surfaces need. A combo head splits the difference: the grit bristles break up algae spotting and the film that settles into plaster, while the poly bristles carry the loose material away. On a plaster or gunite pool that is the combination most service techs reach for.

Sizing and use

At 18 inches the head covers walls and floors quickly and still works into steps and corners. Keep this brush to hard surfaces. Grit bristles belong on plaster, gunite and concrete, not on a vinyl liner or a fiberglass shell where they can scratch the finish.

What surfaces is this brush for?
Plaster. The grit half of the bristle set is what works on plaster and other hard surfaces such as gunite and concrete.
Can I use it on a vinyl liner?
It is not the brush for that. Grit bristles can scratch vinyl and fiberglass, so use a pure nylon or poly brush on those surfaces.
What does combo bristle mean?
The head carries two bristle types, 50 percent grit and the balance poly, so it scrubs harder than an all nylon brush without being as aggressive as an all stainless one.
How wide is the head?
18 inches, which is the common working width for walls and floors on residential pools.
