The Hydra HG130P is a replacement skimmer basket with a molded handle. It is filed with the Aqua Genie in ground skimmer parts.

The handle

The handle is formed into the basket rather than fitted as a separate bail. That matters more than it sounds: a full skimmer basket is heavy and wet, and a clipped on handle is the thing that lets go at exactly the wrong moment.

Why it is worth replacing

The skimmer basket is the first filter your pool has. Everything that blows onto the surface gets caught here rather than in the pump. A basket with a split side or a broken rim passes that debris straight through, and the next thing it meets is the pump basket and the impeller.

Before you order

Baskets are not universal. Compare the diameter, the height and the rim of your existing basket against this one, since the wrong size either drops through or will not seat.

What is a molded handle?
The handle is part of the molded basket itself rather than a separate wire or plastic bail. There is nothing to come loose when you lift a heavy basket.
Does a cracked basket matter?
